Secondly, are you suggesting that trans fats SHOULDN'T be banned? Let me guess - you complained vehemently against the smoking ban as well?
 

Yes, and yes. If you don't like smoke in restaurants or trans fats in your food, patronize those establishments that choose to be smoke- or trans fat-free.

As for accountability, every news item I've seen which mentioned that aspect said that the decision was made by the CHR, not city council. Do you have a source that says differently?
